The Climate Action Network (CAN) is a group of NGOs working to combat the effects of human-induced climate change. With member groups from over 120 different countries, its existence reflects the necessity for governments and individuals across to globe to participate in the worldwide mitigation of climate change.

Following the Bruntland Commission’s definition of environmental sustainability, CAN prioritizes the achievement of a healthy environment that coexists with equitable development. The network aims to achieve this goal through information exchange and coordinated strategy development between nongovernmental organizations.
